About Us

I am a classically trained Iyengar yoga teacher with over 26 years’ experience in health & well-ness. I live in the Richmond, VA area with my family and work full-time at VCU Health as a physical therapist, specializing in the neurological patient population. I began my yoga journey and teacher training at Studio Yoga in Madison, NJ with the late Theresa Rowland. I went on to study with many Senior Iyengar instructors, including BKS Iyengar himself. Following teacher training, I became a certified Iyengar teacher and opened a yoga studio called Trinity Yoga. In 2008, I decided to sell the studio and return to school to study physical therapy. After graduating from P.T. school, I've worked in a variety of settings, and have maintained a love of movement science, anatomy & physiology, prayer, & meditation. I am forever a student. PhysioYoga is the culmination of 25 years of my life's work & passion! It integrates the principles of evidence-based movement science with the art and practice of yoga. I find myself like a scientist when I practice! I believe PhysioYoga will only add to one's current practice, no matter the type. Or it can be a stand-alone practice to build on. My main goal is to develop independent practitioners! To create a foundation for you to practice on your own! Yoga is an inside job. Most importantly, Yoga is process, not pose. Thus, the aim is not to teach poses, but the art and science of yoga. I believe this will be a novel yoga experience and hope you will join me on this new journey.
